***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***
Everyone and everything in God's creation has its appointed time and place. Shachah is so blessed to be a part of so many life-changing stories as we seek to bring pure worship to the King of kings. We receive countless blessings from you, our brothers and sisters, that have allowed our music to minister to you and others around you. We strive to give God our all in investing our time and energy to produce the best possible music that is worthy of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Shachah is honored and humbled to be an instrument in the movement to mix uplifting, God-honoring lyrics with a fresh, modern sound. Our emphasis is to stay true to Biblical, doctrinal truth. We pray that our music ministry continues to bring encouragement to the saved, and salvation to the lost.
Now, now it's time for some family business.
In solidarity and unity; and, in humble realization of God's gifts and calling; and, in complete amiable agreement, the remaining members of Shachah, Brenden, Josh, and Steve, have all prayerfully concluded that God is moving each of them on in their seasons of life. Though playing as Shachah will be missed, they are excited at what God is currently doing in their lives right now. All three currently serve at their local churches as worship leaders and are busy raising up worshipers within their fellowships. Brenden and Josh have been playing music in a new band, Brenden McPeek and the Soul Reformation, and continue to bless all who hear.
We, Shachah, absolutely love and appreciate every one of you that we have had the opportunity to meet, stay at your house, play at your church, shoot at laser tag, eat BBQ, spaghetti, Tex-Mex, Pizza, Philly cheese steaks, shoot with air soft guns, jam with, play basketball with and against, do the work of the ministry with, etc., etc., etc.
We are excited to move onward in the various directions God is calling us; while, at the same time, we are sad to let go of an area of ministry that God has used for the last ten years. All glory to God for using Shachah to sing His praise and salvation, and all glory to God as He continues to move us in different directions.
As always, grace and peace from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Much Love,
Shachah
P.S. We are still operating www.facebook.com/shachahmusic and will update you if we plan any farewell shows. We will let you know.

"The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps" (Proverbs 16:9).

We in Shachah believe that God has sovereign control over us and moves us as He sees fit for our greatest good and His greatest glory. Sometimes we don't understand the details of an infinite God who chooses to work His power in our finite reality. In our case, these finite details not only weigh heavy on our hearts, but also cause our hearts to turn to God and trust that ALL things are happening for good...
So, it is with heavy and hopeful hearts that we share with all of you our family of a soon departure of our dear, dear friend, co-founder, and bass player - Earl Mergelsberg.
Earl, Melinda, and their new twin boys, Brady and Bo, are moving back to Florida this October.
As many of you know, Earl moved out to California to go to Calvary Chapel's School of Music where he met Brenden, Josh, and Bryan (Whitley). Shachah was formed out of obedient hearts leading God's people in worship. What started as a one-night worship gig at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa with Joey Buran and Worship Generation, led to a nation-wide, multi-country movement that God has used to absolutely bless the socks off so many family members in Christ as well as those outside of salvation.
About eight years have gone by, and God is still proving His faithfulness in being the leader of our band, Shachah. While we are so bummed to see Earl and his family go, we are stoked to see what our faithful Father has in store for them. They will be close to Earl's family as well as close church friends so we know they are in hands. Please join us in prayer for their safe move and God's continued guidance as they move back home.
Another way you can join us is by literally joining us this Monday night, October 1st, at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa for Monday Nights Live at 7:30 pm with Pastor Garid Beeler for Earl's final show with Shachah! We would love to send Earl and his family off with a bang and show as much love and support as possible!
Hope to see you there! If not, check us out live at www.mondaynightslive.com.
Okay, so we know what you're thinking - what's going to happen with the rest of the guys? Is Shachah breaking up? No. We have been seeking God for renewed vision and focus on what the ministry of Shachah is and what God wants to do with us. We believe God has used this ministry to touch countless lives and the He wants to still touch countless more. Our mindset from the beginning has been this: "We will go hard until the Lord says stop." You can pray for us, too, for God's wisdom and guidance as we move forward for the ultimate exaltation and glory of a most holy God.
"Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" (Psalm 46:10).

If you were at Beachside Summerfest on Saturday, June 23rd, then you were a part of one of Southern California's sweetest summer concerts! If you were not, WHERE WERE YOU?!?!?! Haha! Here is a link so you can check out a little bit of what you missed. Also, one of the brothers from Calvary Chapel Beachside in Huntington Beach took some incredible video which we will try to hook you up with. He took one of those "Hero" HD extreme sport video cameras and strapped it to Bergler's bass head stock and later attached it to Steve's drum set! Be on the the look-out for that. Also on the stage Saturday were Sons of Trybe, Cross Eyes, Rapture Ruckus, and Dominic Balli.
More importantly, though, the Gospel of Jesus Christ was preached to thousands that made Huntington Beach pier their destination last week. In these uncertain times, God is still actively calling those who would be saved to His side and Shachah is humbled and blessed to be a part of it.
P.S. Big congrats to Tommy H. and Destiny B. for getting engaged right where the concert was going down. Good memories! May God's abundant grace and mercy be upon you two as you serve Him!

Ok, we're a little overdue for a Sha-post! Understatement aside, we hope you all have had a wonderful last few months with a new year and God's great faithfulness to get us through each and every single day! First, Shachah is not dead. Neither physically nor musically. In fact , we have two songs submitted for review to our label right now. We really have had a heart to bring another worship album to the table. We are waiting their response. Meanwhile, you may have already heard that some of us are branching out and are doing some solo stuff. Brenden has been working on his solo project, Brenden McPeek and The Soul Reformation, for over a year and a half and is about to blast off with a CD release concert at on May 28th at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa during the Monday Nights LIVE with Pastor Garid Beeler from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. His new CD is called Lover Of My Soul and contains a wonderfully modern take on the vintage Motown sound that is sure to get you groovin' and praising God in a whole new way. Check it out on iTunes! And, stay tuned for more great music coming from the Shachah fam!!

We normally don't have to share bad news with you, but we wanted to reach out and ask for prayer for a dear brother's family and close friends - Wes Davis, our friend, a husband, and worship leader, went to be with Jesus on Friday, July 29th. He and his wife, Allie, were in a car crash. Allie is doing fine, but is understandably devastated. Please join us in prayer for Allie and the rest of Wes' family and friends throught this difficult time.
"We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose" (Romans 8:28, Amplified Bible).
Rest In Jesus, Wes! We shall see you soon...

Hey, ShaFamily, if you are ever in the Inglewood, CA area, or happen to live there, Fairview Heights Baptist Church on 1215 Marlborough Ave is a great group of brothers and sisters commited to preaching and teaching the Bible and making disciples. We had the opportunity of ministering in worship this past Sunday and we were blessed by the people and the message.
We will be back there, soon, as we're in the planning stages of an evangelistic outreach with them for that area.
Keep us in prayer, and we'll keep you in touch.

What an incredible Independence Day yesterday! If you had the privilege of attending Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa's July 4th celebration then you know what we're talking about. Scott Cunningham, Evan Wickham and several others provided worship along with, of course, Shachah.
As was so eloquently brought out yesterday, not only are we celebrating the birth of our great nation, but we also are celebrating the wonderful freedom we have from the tyranny of sin and the spiritual bondage that comes with it!
We were blessed to take part in that spiritual celebration. We also had the opportunity to visit with special friends that we had not seen in a while - Shout out to Leo and his family from Kyle/San Marcos, TX! Great seeing you guys, again!
