The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps (Proverbs 16:9). Music has played such a major part in my life. I received my first Maxwin drum set at ten years old. Before that time, I banged on everything I could get my sticks on (or pencils—much to the chagrin of my teacher/mother). Upon my getting a Pearl Export Pro set for my fourteenth birthday, I realized that my future as a professional musician was well within my grasp…or so I thought. I had to learn through Bible College that God is more concerned with my relationship with Him and how my life glorifies Him rather than how I think my life should play out. Basically, I had to surrender my hopes and dreams of being a musician to God and let Him do what His perfect will was for my life. Once my white flag was raised to my Father, He began blessing me in ways of which I had never dreamed. Shachah is one of those blessings. Since February 2006, I have partaken in an adventure with some of the coolest guys anyone could ask for. These guys are Christ-centered and have an uncompromising attitude in regards to making music. We have had the privilege to travel quite extensively and share the love of Jesus with many. As I grow as a musician, I must constantly be aware that I must be growing as a servant of the most high God. He is the inspiration of our music, and He deserves the best of our musical gifts.
